| - We have complete household agreement on five stars here. Came here last night for an impromptu nice dinner and sat on the patio enjoying the warm summer evening. Yes, the food is pricey for Champaign. We had sushi, the special steak, and two salads, a smoked calamari salad and a Prairie Fruits goat cheese salad. The salads were excellent. The sushi is the best in Champaign (and you pay for it, because it is fresher, hence higher transportation costs). My strip steak was one of the best composed steaks I have ever had: lovely sauce, perfect accompaniments, nicely cooked (cf. steakhouse steaks, which I also love, which are a big hunk of meat, grilled, w/ some kind of potato on the side -- go to Jim Gould's if you are in the mood for that kind of meat in Champaign). Nice, small list of wines by the glass. Delicious creme brule: best ever, any restaurant. Knowledgeable, attentive service. Only quibble, my idea of rare is rarer than their idea of rare, but their rare worked very well with the steak and the sauce.
