| - I am an Elite member, so I stay at LaQuinta locations a lot and have had nothing short of a fantastic stays in the past. This trip however was the absolute worst hotel I have ever been to. We were coming down for a friends wedding and called ahead to check in early and they didn't have our size king available so they said they have a double room available. Which was fine, a little snug to sleep 2 people in a bed, but whatever. So we get our keys, walk up to our room and the neither of the keys work. So we lug all of our bags back down to the front desk, get new keys along with the front desk associate and he tries them and they don't work again. He has a master key in his pocket so he opened the door and the room was a disaster, not clean at all. So he went back to the front desk to find a different room for us and asked us to wait...mind you, it is AZ in May and is 100 degrees outside since it is about 11am and we were asked to wait outside in the sun since it is more a motel instead of a hotel...he comes back and takes us to a different room and it is a little warm so I turn down the AC expecting it to cool down. We had an event to go to for lunch for the wedding and then immediately out for the rehearsal dinner after, so we didn't wait for it to cool down before we left. We come back from the rehearsal dinner around midnight and it is so hot in our room - the AC doesn't work. We call down to the front desk and they said to sit tight, we are going to send someone to fix it. It is midnight, we are tired we have been traveling and out all day we just want to go to bed, we don;t want to sit and wait for them to get someone to come fix our AC at midnight of a Friday. So we call back down and ask to change rooms. They send someone up who knocks on the door, hands me the new keys and jogs away. No,"hey, your new room is this way" or "can I help you" just here is the keys and then see ya. So we gather all of our stuff and start trying to find our new room in the middle of the night and as I was walking with my husband behind me, a giant cockroach falls on my shoulder. Now I have lived in AZ before so I know that they are down there but come on...anyway, we get to our new room and the AC works, thank God but still a double bed which isn't what I paid for. So the next morning, I walk down to the front desk and tell the lady working behind the counter our our experience so far, she was rude and didn't even give an apology. I wasn't even looking for any type of compensation, just wanted to let them know how we had been treated and I suppose I am not shocked that they did not care.
I will never stay here again. STAY AWAY
