| - I know this place has great reviews but I won't be eating here again. The food was okay (even though they didn't get our order right), and the service was okay too. I just can't get over the portion sizes, it is such a waste! I didn't see a single person around me finishing their plate. And what are we teaching our children? What message are we sending to adults? I would much rather pay 1/2 the price and receive half the food. Heck, I'd pay the same price for half the food if it were really tasty!
We went on a Saturday morning and early enough to beat the huge rush (we got there about 9:30 or 10am). Our wait was about 20 minutes, while the wait was an hr. plus when we left. We sat inside and while we waited we watched huge platters of food being brought out of the kitchen and instantly determined we'd be sharing a meal.
We ordered the Tractor Driver Combo: 2 eggs over medium, bacon and a blueberry pecan pancake ($13.95). We added a side of Biscuits and Gravy. The meal came out and they'd given us potatoes instead of bacon, but brought us bacon when we complained - so hey free potatoes (although I didn't care for the rosemary seasoning, I didn't think it went with the sweetness of the pancake). Also as we cut into our eggs it was obvious that they were not cooked to medium, even the egg whites were runny.. the eggs ran into the pancake which is a big pet peeve of mine. The pancake was HUGE! Together we didn't even eat 1/3 of it! It was good but came with a very small side of syrup, I imagine people are constantly asking for more syrup. I would have if I'd eaten more of my gigantic pancake.
The food didn't wow us. I didn't try the biscuits and gravy, but the bf didn't finish them so that says a lot, generally he would. Our conversation the entire meal was about how unhealthy the portion sizes were, how it was almost to the point of making us lose our appetites, and how we watched person after person send away their plates with tons of food still on them *thankfully*. It's unfortunate that other countries are starving and we rave about places with portion sizes that should feed multiple people. I'll get off my soap box, but I'll not be visiting here again.
