| - Happened to be at the Cosmo on an evening where I had something to celebrate, and we looked over and saw this cool looking bar, so we stopped in. Had no idea what we were in for.
Great vibe here, very open and airy, no blaring music, the focus is on the food, the drinks, and the company you keep, which was perfect. After getting some guidance on the extensive drink menu, we realized we should probably eat something, so we ordered a couple of the tapas items. The suggestions on the food menu weren't as helpful, she pretty much just suggested the most expensive item in each category.
The plates are fairly expensive, but you're paying Strip prices at the Cosmo, so don't expect any major discounts. We had the patatas bravas, which was better than expected, and the spicy chorizo wrapped in patatas, which was more like a potato chip. They had some tapas standards, and some really interesting dishes...Would be nice to come back when we need more than 2-3 dishes. Many of the specialty dishes seem to be basic comfort foods "reimagined" in a more refined way, which is a foodie trend right now.
Two drinks and two of the lower cost dishes ended up being $50 with tax & tip. That was the only shock, until I remembered where I was. Now that I know what I'm in for, I'll definitely be back. This is a wonderful, low-key restaurant with good food, good drinks, and good service.
Now if we could just do something about that parking structure...
