  • Every time I have been to this restaurant it has been very busy. They have a really weird reservation system too! So the first time I visited was after the theater, we did not eat just had a cocktail and I mean one as the bartender that evening was too busy with some guys and the absinthe machine to ever get back to us for a second drink. But we still vowed to return to eat. So the second time we go for Sunday brunch, it is very busy, there were 3 of us but we managed to find 2 seats at the bar. We wanted to eat at the bar but they make you put your name on the list as it is reservations there too. Unfortunately they have super vapid hostesses who seem to have no facial recognition or clue as to what they are doing. So while sitting there we are seeing some food coming out and the Chicken and Waffles looks delicious. The bartender Cecil was pretty fantastic. But then a server comes to inform the bartenders that they are out of the chicken. So after sitting awhile (the place had pretty much cleared out by then) the hostess finally comes over to move us to the other side of the bar .We thought this to be very odd! Which was still dirty from previous customers and then needed to be cleaned, as we stood there and waited. I ended up with the breakfast Americano which was a typical breakfast but with a house made sausage link and that was very good. My other friend got short rib hash also very tasty and the other got the grilled cheese, which he said was the "best grilled cheese he had ever had" All in all everyone was happy with that visit. The third time we try to go again it was for Sunday brunch as we really wanted to try that Chicken. But it was a no go as my one friend has very little patience and when they told us we couldn't wait at the bar she wanted to leave. So we went somewhere else that day. The fourth time we had a party of six and had made a reservation and they gave us the private room. I finally got that Chicken and Waffles along with two of my other friends and I was extremely disappointed as were they! While the chicken itself was moist and juicy the breading lacked any flavor at all (seriously Shop n Save has better fried chicken) and the waffle was dry too! Now it comes with a bourbon, bacon syrup which was tasty but the waffle itself broke apart when you touched it with the fork. And four of the six had the house made sausage patty that day and the four of us that ate it got ill. I was relating this some other people who said that also got ill after eating here. Mental note:"No more sausage here"! Even after that a couple of months later I with two friends were in town for the Arts Festival and wanted to have a couple drinks and apps so we try to go here and it was extremely busy again and we decided to go elsewhere. So I think in all of my visits it is either hit or miss the service is generally good with the exception of Cecil the bartender who is very welcoming and friendly. The hostesses vapid (every time I have been there). The food good some days and not so great others. But I would still like to try dinner perhaps one day when there is a blizzard!
