Snack time at your high school cafeteria...if it were cash only and located in South America. The recent highlight of this chain on their bakeries around the Carolinas should get some of the Millennials further down South Blvd to enjoy these sweet treats!
My snack buddy fortunately speaks Spanish, as I was linguistically limited in my ability to take full advantage of this little place. You grab a tray, pick out what you want, and pay at the end. I challenge you to get your tasty treats home before taking a bite, as we didn't even make it the two miles back home before devouring a cream-filled donut. I'll admit that I'm normally not a fan of pastries with filling, but this one with cinnamon sugar hot the spot.
We got five items for under five dollars, so a great deal for the variety. The circular bun reminded me of a pretzel, the pineapple turnover was an interesting change of flavor, we got something similar to a not-too-crunchy gingerbread cookie, and the chocolate glazed cookie with sprinkles was a favorite.
This part of South Blvd gets pretty busy, so save yourself the trouble and don't try to turn left to cross traffic and go south when you leave. Plenty of parking and a taco truck was on site when we visited on a Saturday. Bring cash and get your snack on!
