I've been a fan of OMB since they premiered in 2009. Their beer has come a long way and is still in a state of evolution. If you've yet to try it, stop by the brewery for your first taste.
The tap room is styled like the Bavarian bierhaus, with wood community tables, high open-beamed ceilings, and lots of dark wood panels. Don't arrive expecting expansive walls of TVs...it's a brewery tap room, not a sports bar. But you can expect great service from the friendly staff. Pop in on the weekends and you can get a 45 minute "tour" of the brewery. You don't get to really wander the warehouse, but you can come face-to-face with the machinery and learn about the history of OMB and their beer making process - great afternoon if you have a beer-lover visiting for the weekend!
The beer itself is generally good. Copper, their flagship, has been hit-or-miss for me, but their seasonal releases are where the good stuff is at. They have German-inspired snacks from the kitchen, too.
OMB was the catalyst for Charlotte's craft beer explosion - stop by and see where it all began.
