  • Good start...came in with two friends who had an appointment while in Vegas for work. I wasn't going to have work done because I get dip powder manicures at home in MD and I wasn't sure if they did those at this salon. I was told that they did, so I agreed to have mine done. The soak off and shaping process was fine but things quickly went south from there. It was clear the "technician" didn't really know the proper technique and had probably just watched someone else do it prior to trying for herself. I ended up having to request that she do my nails the way I was used to them being done at home as she had skipped several steps. She was applying the primer polish to all the nails then dipping each finger which allowed the polish to dry on some nails while she dipped the others. This lead to the nails being very patchy and the powder not adhering to some parts of my nails at all. She made up for this by doing three (almost four) coats her way, instead of doing one finger at a time as I continuously suggested. She even went as far as to try sprinkling powder over the sparse areas of my nails to fill in the gaps. After I insisted that she do one nail at a time on the other hand, the coverage was more even but she then proceeded to file the polish down so thin that some of my natural nail started to peek through (she stated that my normal tech made my polish "too bulky"). After an hour and a half I was off and they didn't look bad at all. However, not even 24 hours later two nails had cracked and you could see visible shattering on all the other nails (like it was a thin gel mani)...one crack was not that bad but the other was visible and in a place where I was sure my nail would break down to the skin, and IT DID...after growing them out for weeks. I called to advise of what happened and they told me they didn't know who I was but they did offer to have me come in so they can see what I "did to them" and they would determine from there whether there'd be a charge for the fix. Unfortunately, I was unable to go back as I had no time due to gigs and flying out later that day. I would not recommend this salon for dip powder but not living in Nevada, luckily, I don't have to worry about his being an option for me.
