| - I'm so disappointed in Dr Herpolsheimer and staff. I've been coming to him for over a decade, and for the last 2 and a half years I had to beg the entire office for a colposcopy and finally got one, despite being symptomatic justifying a need AND despite having the insurance to pay for it. The doctor didn't bother to numb me and when I screamed and cried he said "yeah its going to hurt considering I just took a chunk of flesh from you." What? How's that for bedside manner. Then he tells me that my results won't be in for up to 7 business days, but later that same day his office calls me back to say that my results were negative. Later the very same day???? I have yet to see any documentation from an actual lab, but I really have a sinking suspicion that my sample was never actually sent off. When I asked Dr. Herpolsheimer what my next steps were in treatment, his response and I quote verbatim was, "nothing, it's not like you have to worry about the cells turning into cancer for at least about 10 years." I have never in my life seen a doctor of woman's health so dismissive and uncaring about a woman's health. Patient beware, especially black women, don't go here. The office staff is rude, and although the PA, Tiffany, is very, very nice she is the one that I begged to have more extensive testing done that just a blood test, for two years. Two years is a long time to be in pain and to have ever increasing symptoms. I'm looking for a new doctor now and am hoping that when my patient paperwork from the last decade is sent over it really does include lab work for that colposcopy since I'm terrified of having to do that procedure again without at least some type of numbing agent. I couldn't get out of bed for a week afterward from the pain and bleeding, and nobody at Dr. Herpolsheimer's office cared. By the way, in the time that I've been going to WHASN I've seen every doctor there, and none of them care about women that aren't pregnant. I realize that this career choice, this profession has an added bonus of bringing life into this world but to only treat your pregnant patients as having any value, in my opinion, does not make even a halfway decent gynecologist. Women's health is more than just delivering babies, and this office is certainly named inaccurately since Women's Health is not something they care about unless it centers around a woman currently carrying a baby. I'm disheartened that the doctor I've been seeing for so many years failed to show me any compassion whatsoever when finally I needed him for something other than just a wellness check, which equates to him getting free money at the end of the day. Maybe you'll be ok so long as you remain pregnant, and/or never, ever have an issue in which you need your doctor to actually listen to you and to care but I wouldn't take that chance again. I wish I had been going to someone else this entire time and I look forward to finding a doctor that actually cares about his patients.
