First opportunity to blast a chain restaurant. if Chipotle has ever established quality momentum they have scorched the carnitas masses.
I recall when Chipotle first busted with their carefully marketed circuits. nearly everyone garnered praise for their approach. The popular suburban and polished urban lunch break. The times I have been to Chipotle I believe I am marginalized in a goofy focus group pyramid marketing scheme. This review is not at all targeted as I believe an overstuffed burrito when prepared correctly is one of the most desirable meals on earth.
This location in Cleveland, Brooklyn draws venom. Saturday afternoon and polished new 'popular urban' music is far too loud. Songs with vaguely Spanish motifs spiked with some modern sterile recording punch together with new slinky pogo rock, far too loud. Chipotle seems to explicitly employ younger people so as to motivate you from any persuasion that their environment is anything but insufferably lame and contrived.
I dislike them. This location has broad window view of Plain Dealer industrial printing facility. The view combined with atmosphere of restaurant makes a strange kind of awkward. Plain Dealer is basically in the dumps as a news source and the view made experience feel goofy. Reliably the Tiedeman Keybank workforce and hotel visitors back up lines out the door. I do not understand how Chipotle at this stage of their business maturity can actually do so well. Their food at this location and many others has become less and less quality and they have steadily shifted increases with their prices. I recall when vegetable burrito was $4.75 and now $6.25 (less than four years?)
I could write more but why bother. Does anyone eat this food other than to feel bloated and fall asleep?
