A path that was created by local cyclists with community support from rate-payers and residents' associations, over a ten-year gestation. This linear park provides a great bike connection between The West Toronto Junction and Brockton/Parkdale.
Part of its beauty is its dystopic post-industrial landscape in various stages of decay. Much of the area's 19th and 20th century industrial capacity is slowly being swept away by redevelopment as the abandoned factories are slowly being dismantled. Part of the pleasure of cycling this route is seeing the different stages of the area's devolution/redevelopment , sort of like going into a time machine and seeing different era's collide.
Unfortunately, we will likely only have this visual experience for little more than a few years, as gentrification and general urban renewal will completely change this linear park's character.
