Probably more of a 3.5 star with Jac's but every time I go I'm just a bit more underwhelmed than the last time. I'm a fan, but it's not at the top of my choice list on a Saturday night. That said, you won't likely have a bad meal here. Service has always been attentive and prompt though fairly impersonal. I remember the first time I came was blown away by the cocktail menu (had my first Moscow mule here) and the Jac's burger - the cocktail menu has seemingly shrunk down a bit but is still a good one. This most recent review is about the saltim boccawich (chicken) which was awesome, and the Breakfast in Soho cocktail (or two), which was really good and easy to drink. We came with friends and though we had made reservations I believe we easily could have been accommodated without them at 6 on a Saturday - likely owing to Monroe St construction. Our waitress was super attentive and on point. The cheese curds are better than most. The aioli with frites was a little on the thick side but the frites will satisfy your salt craving. My sandwich had a really exciting description but to be honest it all seemed to blend together to create a pleasing flavor where none of the descriptors really stood out. I may not have even noticed if that caper aioli or fresh sage was there or not to be frank.
Give it a try if you haven't.
