  • ***Review for NAILS by Marina - I went in for a regular mani/pedi and was asked if I wanted gel. Ok, I may be the only person in the world who had not tried gel before but, Marina told me it was nothing like acrylic nails (which I told her I had in the past and hated because of the damage it does) and that it would last for six weeks. So I decided to try it... 1 - It did not last 6 weeks. At about 2 1/2 weeks several of my nails started to peel. 2 - I can't remove this polish with polish remover, something that Marina failed to mention. 3 - The damage that it did to my nails is incredible, very similar to acrylic nails. 4 - I was charged WAY more than anywhere else I have priced since my visit with Marina. I feel like she took advantage of me not knowing a thing about gel. I absolutely will not be back to see Marina, for all of the reasons listed above. I went to another salon to get my gel polish removed and got a regular manicure with additional oil to help rehydrate my nails. I will just have to wait for my nails to grow out. Lesson learned, I will not use gel again, but shame on Marina for not being forward with the information that she should have given me when I clearly knew nothing about gel.
