Visited on a Sunday for brunch over a holiday weekend. They, like most of Charlotte, we're very quiet with many traveling. This worked to our advantage with stellar service and impeccably prepared food. Lori's french onion soup was excellent with a deep, umami flavor. My order of chicken livers over polenta was, quite frankly, one of the best riffs I've had on this overlooked, rustic culinary treat. I kicked it up a notch with a 3 minute poached egg which ran all over the plate. Mmmm. Perfect. I paired it with a glass of prosecco to give it a little elegance.
Other than smelling like a campfire when I arrived home (which I liked), I was happy we visited. A return is in their future.
