| - I had my hair done as part of a wedding last summer by Be Inspired. They were very friendly, but not very experienced.
I brought pictures of three options for my hair, and asked if they would be able to do my first choice, which was an angled french braid to a loose curls bun thing. The stylist (don't remember her name, wish I did!) took a while, but I do have a lot of hair. Once she finished she asked what I thought and held up a mirror. It was nothing like the pictures. It wasn't even the same braid. She said she didn't know how to french braid. Excuse me? Why would you not say this up front when I asked if you could do the style? Especially when I was flexible and brought other suggestions? The bun was also just a basic tight bun. No curls or anything, and definitely have hair that this would be easy to do. Very unsatisfied. She could tell I didn't like it and said she could try it again. She redid it and it wasn't any different.
I did not have my makeup done, but they did the bride's makeup and turned her into an oompa loompa. She had the airbrush makeup done and they turned her face bright orange. I get that usually you should do the makeup a little darker and a little heavier especially for outdoor pictures, but good christ at least blend down her neck a little! She had the terrible chin line going from orange to pale between her face ad neck. The blush also made her look sunburned. It's obvious if you look at photos that the professional ones, especially the close ups, had to be photoshopped to correct the color.
On the plus side I guess, from doing research for my own wedding hair and makeup, they are fairly cheap. It was $75 for each person to get hair done, and another $75 if you wanted your makeup done. I would rather pay more and have someone who has more skill and doesn't make promises they can't keep.
