| - I have visited this location many times before but my negative experience last night NEEDS to be reviewed. My 3 friends and I were craving a tasty marg so we decided to start our cinco de mayo at z. After the hosts quoting 20 mins for inside or right away outside, we decided on the patio as we saw open tables on our way in. They had us wait 10 mins to be sat, not the biggest deal.
A very nice server, Andi I believe, greeted us and started us off by putting in a round a drinks and a few apps because our server was in the weeds. We waited for waters for ~10 minutes(on a warm 105 May day) and then another 10 minutes for our "frozen" margs...I quote frozen because they were half liquid and must have sat in the drink well for half the time we waited. This is when we had the pleasure of meeting our extremely rude(quick to leave, short, unpleasant, unfriendly) server.
We decided to put in another round of drinks right then, knowing it would likely be another 20 mins before we got them, as well as 3 more apps. It took about that long and soon we were eating 2 of our apps and next round of drinks. About this time the hosts were putting together a large table and soon this big party arrived. As they kept adding tables to the big party, they were soon on top of us and we were forced to lift our table ourselves and move it a few feet over. Not really cool with a table full of drinks and food.
We had been at our table about an hour now and we were still waiting on our third app. At this point we were ready to go and our server said he would be right out with the last app. He came back with it and my girlfriend politely asked "may I speak with your manager please" to address our issues. Instead of pre-bussing our empty plates, glasses, or refilling our waters, and grabbing the manager; our server decided to ask my girlfriend "may I ask why you want to speak with my manager" and then proceeded to argue with us about all the ways he had failed us throughout our dining experience.
Next came out the bar manager who confirmed our server as confrontational and apologized on his behalf and took $14 off of our $118 bill...I would have done more to recover the bad experience but everyone's different.
I end this novel by explaining my one star review. I give one star for the young lady who first greeted us with a smile and got our drink order. I give no stars to our horrible server and his piss service. No water refills, no prebus, no apology for things taking too long, and his poor attitude. I give zero stars for the management not preparing for cinco de mayo at a Mexican (southwestern grill) restaurant and allowing the night to be understaffed, underprepared, and not touching our table before we had to ask for management.
This experience left a bad taste for everyone in my group and I will most definitely not return. I recommend for anyone reading to not waste their time and money at this ztejas. There are plenty of other much better options. I hate to be so negative but if nothing is said, nothing will change.
