| - This is the only place to review this store, which has both a computer side and a clothing and household side. So I will review both here. Regarding both together, I suggest that Goodwill Management attend to it's yelp listings more carefully.
First, I am grateful that Goodwill and others have finally put in second-hand shops in Lawrenceville. I just wish they would have done so before the place became "gentrified".
As for the two sides:
The Computer Side gets .5 of a star for being over-priced ($200 for an older laptop) and being unwilling to haggle.
Clothing gets 3. 5 stars - this relatively new store location provides nice, handicap accessible dressing rooms with big mirrors and ample place to hang the clothes you are trying on.
It is not as dirty as the East End Community Thrift (EECT)and gives the sense of having a bigger selection with more modern clothes, but prices at Goodwill are very buyer beware, whereas EECT is genuinely priced to help low-income people.
I was happy to find a used bed frame at the Lawrenceville Goodwill for only $9.99 (in keeping with one I got from the Salvation Army for $11), whereas the Southside store only has new ones for a whopping $35.00 (ouch!).
It is just very frustrating to witness that a place that accepts donations is not more helpful to those in need, but this is the Goodwill brand, and not the fault of the folks that work in this particular store. (If you are truly desperately in need of clothes for a job or college interview, try the St.Vincent De Paul store in Sharpsburg, or check with Allegheny Link to see if you qualify for a voucher to the East End Community Thrift on Penn Ave.)
Overall, though, an ok store, clean and with a good selection.
