| - I found Irton garden centre, to be full of the usual array of gift items and very few garden sundries.
On both occasions I visited recently, it was hard to spot any trolleys to transport items such as compost.
They are now part of a larger group, the staff seemed confused with the checkout process, with long queues & severe congestion developing around the checkout, not helped by pallets of goods on the floor awaiting unpacking.
There was a large range of plants, which although average priced, the pots were undersized, not ideal.
There was virtually no display signage or rationale to the layout of the stock, however the plant areas were spotless.
No attempt was made by staff to ask if customers needed any help with plant selection, a daunting task for most.
It has much improved from previous visits, when it had become rather neglected. Clearly aimed at tourists, especially the cafe.
Garden centre is a bit of a misnomer, more cafe & gift centre, with an outdoor theme.
