| - Wonderful, wonderful experiences at Sacred Hour!
Sacred Hour has a very relaxing, organic feel. It's in a pretty busy plaza and it was hard to find the first time, but the secluded entrance away from the rest of the shops only adds to the "hidden, private sanctuary" feel. As soon as you walk in, you are welcomed by the scent of organic candles and soothing music. Even with other guests in the lobby area, I've never felt that it was too crowded, and I've always been helped immediately. The check in process is simple, and the receptionist always offers to take my coat as soon as I walk in. At first, I was confused as to why guests are asked to remove their shoes and wear thick, plastic slippers, but I soon realized they serve 2 purposes -- they prevent dirt, mud and snow from being tracked into the service areas, and the are extra quiet when you walk. After a handful of times at Sacred Hour, I've never once had to wait in the front lobby. After checking in, I was immediately escorted into the comfortable waiting area. There are 2 lounge chairs and a big sofa to sit on, and in the middle of the room is a large wooden table (made from a tree stump, I think!) over a super fluffy white rug. The rug is divine, by the way. There is also hot tea and water available in this room.
I haven't had to wait more than 5 minutes in the waiting room, and that was because I was early. Since I started coming to Sacred Hour, I've had the pleasure of working with 3 different massage therapists who all had very different styles and techniques. I saw Adam first. He was really great at addressing my problem areas with a firm touch, and worked out a lot of my sore spots. I went to see Tracy for a relaxation massage, and it was amazing. I even drifted off to sleep for a little bit! Tracy was really good at listening to me when I told her about my problem areas, and very responsive to my requests. Yesterday, I saw Dawn for a deep tissue massage. It was my first ever deep tissue massage, and I was super nervous. But, Dawn was incredible! She used more pressure than I was used to in some really tough spots, but it wasn't painful. Dawn also was really good at fluidly working from one muscle group to the next and feeling where the knots are. After the massage, Dawn gave me some great advice on things to do at home to loosen up. She offered me water and tea, and to just chill out in the waiting room if I had time.
I love going to Sacred Heart, and I even scheduled my next appointment! The online scheduler is great, and there's a lot of flexibility in scheduling same day appointments. I'm excited for my next visit with Dawn!
