| - So, full disclosure, I worked for a suburban Heinen's as a teenager and you can't tell me there's any better grocery store in Cleveland because you are just wrong. Or, if you're not wrong, let me know so I can see what could possibly top Heinen's!
As a complete nerd for Heinen's, I absolutely had to stop into this fancy new location while I was in town, and I was not disappointed. The fresh foods/cafe section set up in the rotunda (oh, that ceiling!) is super cool, and the grocery section, while small, still had all the Heinen's store-brand things I needed (mostly the Two Brothers black bean garlic sauce of deliciousness) as well as an unexpected pint of Mitchell's ice cream that I carried awkwardly through the rest of the store hoping it wouldn't melt all over the place.
Even better was the upstairs beer and wine section, which was cool for its layout and view of the downstairs and also its wide selection of tasty beverages. I was saddened by the lack of room-temperature beers that I could have taken home with me, but the cold selection would be great for anyone picking up last-minute party drinks.
The downside for a visitor is that I have no idea where you're meant to park a car in this area, but we managed to get a surprisingly close spot across E. 9th in a metered spot so all was well. I imagine this is not a problem for the people who would use this as their main grocery store or lunch spot.
