| - What should have been an hour or two visit ended up being almost 4 hours of game play! That's a good thing!
I finally visited this October to find Castle very similar to Snakes and Lattes, with the exception that I could actually get a table without waiting for over an hour. I was pleasantly surprised by their selection of games that were popular throughout the 90s. Although they don't have a huge selection, I think it's easy to find something enjoyable.
The lattes alone are worth the trip and the staff will customize a drink for you if they have ingredients to make your special concoction. I had a hazelnut latte and when it arrived at my table, it had the cutest bear smiling back at me from my cup. The staff are talented and try to make each cup they serve special for their guests. I also tried their ALT sandwich (Avocado, Lettuce and Tomato) which was tasty but really messy! It sort of fell apart after the first bite, but I finished it! After hour 2, I was starving and ordered the turkey sandwich, but that wasn't too great; something you could make at home with mutli-grain bread, mustard, cheese and deli sliced turkey..
Minus the long wait between ordering food and getting food, and having very little table space to play games while eating, and the lack of menu items (sandwiches, waffles, hot and cold drinks, pastries and pies), this place is honestly great. It's very low key, big enough for large groups, and cheap fees ($2.50 per person/per hr). It's also easy to get to by streetcar, and they let me bring in my Starbucks!!
I'm sort of glad not too many people know about it just yet.
