We went to Waldhorns for the first time recently. The place is gorgeous from the outside but once you step in its a huge disappointment. It's dated, worn and looks a little dirty (the Vents on the wall near the bathroom are DISGUSTING) what really ruined the trip for me was their seating "policy" we had a reservation for 5pm
When we entered (at 4:48) there were a few people standing in the very small entry way. We checked in with the hostess
And she said we would be seated at 5pm
But wanted us to be "aware that our table has a 6:30 reservation" I asked if she could go ahead and seat us (there were LOTS of empty tables) since we'd never been there and may take some time reviewing the menu before we order. She said that they don't seat until the exact time of the reservation to avoid "overwhelming the kitchen"!! So several of us stood there..including a woman with a walker..while the tables sat empty so the kitchen wouldn't be overwhelmed!!! That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. When you seat 10 tables at once chances are those 10 orders are going in at the same time!! How does leaving tables empty and customers standing in the cramped foyer make any sense to anyone?! After a couple more minutes I asked her again...its 5 o'clock can we be seated now? She replied "it's 4:58 but I guess we could go ahead and seat you"
Seriously??!!!
With the exception of the Pretzel rolls which were fabulous and terrific service from our waitress Renee Everything else was a huge disappointment. Will definitely not go back.
