| - This company is atrocious. We used them back in July and I still haven't simmered down about it. My girlfriend and I were moving in together and needed help moving 2 small apartments into 1 house about 2 miles down the road. When I first called, the woman I spoke with was helpful and quoted me around $550, which was great compared to everyone else I called. They said that they would send 3 men and a large truck and arrive at my apartment between 10 and 12. Great. Done. At 12:30, they still had not arrived at my apartment. I called and called and dispatched continually pushed back the arrival time in 15 minute increments. They finally arrived around 1:30, and the TWO guys that stepped out of the rented truck did not look like movers in any way shape or form. Their English left something to be desired, but I didn't care about that, as long as they could move stuff quickly. They couldn't. They took over an hour to pack up my efficiency, 1st floor apartment, which didn't have much to it. My dad and I reminded them that there was another apartment, with more steps and more stuff, and they looked at us dumbfounded. Like they had no idea. Even though it was clearly stated on the order. After leaving my apartment, they said they were "stopping to get some water," to which I said "ok, no problem, see you there." Then, we finally get to the other apartment 3 blocks away, and they don't show for 45 minutes. When they finally get there, they refuse to do anything because the place is a 3rd floor walk up, which I clearly said when I got the quote and made the order. They sat on the sidewalk for 30 minutes until my dad called dispatch and agreed to pay $75 extra dollars PER FLOOR and until they got "approval" to go ahead. By this time, we're a good 3 hours into our quoted 4 hour move. The movers look like they're about to die from heat stroke after a little while, so I take a break from all the moving that I'VE been doing with my dad to run and get them bottles of water. My dad and I did half the moving. The truck started to fill up really quickly, and we started to worry that everything wouldn't fit. It was then that the movers told us that the truck was half full with someone else's stuff. In the end, we had to leave a table and chairs (that were included in the quote) behind, and off we went, 2 miles down the road to the new house. Before they could unload the truck, they told my dad that they needed the remaining balance in cash. The amount was now more than double the quote, so my dad had to run to 2 ATM's to get them 900 more dollars (!!!!!!!). It was about 9:00 at this point and our friends came over to help unload the truck. If it weren't for our friends and us moving everything, it would have been at least another 3 hours. Everything was more or less thrown into whatever room it could fit and we decided that we would just deal with it later. We just wanted these people gone and off the clock. The house was such a disaster that we slept at a friend's for 2 days while we tried to organize everything. This move has gone down in my family's history as the worst move ever. I'm one of 4 kids, have done about 15 moves since graduating high school (that's just counting me, not my siblings!), and had never hired movers before, so that's saying something. What a gigantic waste of money and source of frustration these people were. STAY AWAY.
