| - First of all, don't expect to be greeted kindly when you enter or call the office. The staff is not polite... I was referred to Dr. Ziegler for back pain I had for about 2.5 months. Upon seeing him the first time he said it was an easy fix and I will be well in no time. 6 visits later and the pain was still there (= 6 months of pain). Each and every time I tried to explain that the pain was still there, felt the same, and wasn't getting any better. Dr. Ziegler proceeded to tell me that these things take time and I just needed a few more visits...naive me, believed him. So I was approved more visits with Dr. Ziegler. After a few more visits and no success, I began to worry. I had acupuncture, X-rays and an MRI which all came back normal, but the pain was still there! Dr. Ziegler also gave me 4-5 shots but it only masked the pain for a day or two. Finally, I ran out of visits again and went back to the military flight doc for a resolution. I was frustrated beyond words. Sitting at 8 months of pain and discomfort, I just wanted relief. I told him I did not want to go back to Dr. Ziegler. Although he is a nice person, I did not feel like he was actively listening to me or my concerns. I felt like b/c I was military, I was an easy customer to him. Another OMT came in same day and adjusted/manipulated my back within 5 minutes I was feeling immensely better. He believes I had a dislocated rib (from an extremely tight hug sitting down from a very big/strong friend).
Long story short, if you feel in your gut something is not right and the doctor is not meeting your needs/concerns, get another opinion. Don't go back to the same doctor if they're not improving your health.
