The girl I initially wanted to have cut/color my hair has previously cut my son's hair and I loved it. That was about $20 so it's hard to get upset about $20 if things go south. My personal experience on the other hand was a $220 mistake.
I made the appointment a couple weeks in advance. When I showed up they said "sorry, we tried to call but couldn't get ahold of you" that was a lie. Since I'd had my son's hair cut there before I know they have my correct number. They never called or left a message to tell me the girl I made the appointment with went home sick. They had another girl working that could fill in and I was already there so I went with it.
I brought tons of pictures, TONS! Which could literally be a catalog of what they show on their IG. She must've not made the cut on the IG account because I went in wanting their signature ombre/sombre and left with highlights. When she was nearly done I asked why were the highlights so high, they were ALL up to my roots. Her solution was to add more color to the top. It didn't work and guess who paid for that fix, me, literally she charged me for another bowl of color to fix her mistake! I couldn't believe it.
She also cut my hair dry. I've never seen this and it's possibly some newish technique but that did not work for my hair AT ALL. Cutting this way made very chunky layers.
I do believe there is some real talent at this place but I didn't experience any of that with my appointment. Had I known the girl I originally booked the appointment with was going to be out I would've rescheduled. The entire appointment was very amateur, from the way the front desk girls handled this to charging me for the correction. This was an expensive lesson and I won't go back. Ever.
