  • All I can say is that Check City is SHADY. They tried STRONG ARMING me into getting a new NetSpend card through them this morning. They charged me an additional $1.95 on top of their existing $2 load fee because I didn't get my NetSpend card from them. The teller explained that "as a service" to me I could get a new NetSpend card at no cost, aside from the $10 I had to put on the card, and I would only be charged the $2 from now on because I would be getting the card from Check City. I have been going to this same location for years and loading my card for $2. Never Again. I will NEVER do business with these extortionists ever again. They obviously get a big $$$ bonus from NetSpend for new signups and STRONG ARMING their customer base is how they're trying to do it. I guess it goes without saying that a greed based predatory loanshark company like Check City would resort to strong arming to add to greed base. SHAME ON YOU, Check City. I wish I could give you negative stars for having such deplorable practices.
