| - Delicious German-fare. Living in Glendale has its perks, Glendale Square is home of Haus Murphy. The food is delicious and the ambiance is fantastic. You never know when a live band playing the polka is in the house. Try the schnitzels. They are all great. My favorite is the Paprika Schnitzel. They have a lovely warm kraut that they serve with the meal. For an appetizer, the Brie en Croute is divine served with a fabulous Lingenberry sauce. Try convincing your wait staff to give you extra Lingenberry sauce. If you are in to German sausages, they are delicious but a little on the pricey side. Of course, the beers are fantastic and robust. I love their Oktoberfest. Warning, this restaurant does not offer free bread. If you order the bread basket, while delicious, it is a small portion, so if you are a bread lover, you might have to order more than one basket and pay for it, too. Sometimes, they serve a beef broth soup that is to die for. Don't let looks deceive you. It doesn't look like much, but the flavors are robust and well-layered.
