The monorail is good but it could be a lot better with just two minor additions .It is quick, clean, and comfortable to move you about the Strip and Convention area. But it needs to be looked at as a transportation device rather than a tourist and convention attraction. An agreement with the bus system for a superpass that works on both is a must. Revenue sharing arrangements are not that hard to negotiate. Additionally since the hotels provide free parking to their guests they could give an equivalent benefit to monorail and city bus customers as well. This is a gross oversight. The monorail is 1000% better than taxis, faster, cleaner, and honest. It is not a competitor with the city bus system but a way of getting around when traffic is heavy or you are going to where the monorail goes. It is by far the best way to get to the convention center if your hotel is close to a monorail station. The Wynn and the Sands Convention Center should jointly pay for a station at Koval and Spring Mountain (Twain) The hotels, since they benefit from having the monorail should be helping encourage and support ridership subsidizing if necessary as parking lots generate little revenue for the in realation to the space used. The other issue is that the fares need to be reduced to encourage more frequent use. But it is comfortable and quick and if you are going where it goes is your best option.
