I've heard mixed reviews from various people about this flagship store. Here are my thoughts:
First impression - happened way before I was pregnant and I the window display automatically sparked my desire to shop there "when one day I have a baby". Well, that day is almost here and I'm preparing.
I went in to E&E a couple of weeks ago to see what all the hype/hate was about. My experience was fantastic. I was informed and left alone. Just the way I like it. Leave me with the info and I'll decide what to do. The sales lady was extremely knowledgeable about everything from car seats to strollers to cribs. What should I look for? What doesn't matter in the product? What's just a bell and whistle and really doesn't make a difference in how the product functions the way it's supposed to? All these and other questions were answered to my utter satisfaction and I even got some tips.
As far as prices are concerned - yes, some are astronomical and absolutely ridiculous, but then again, I'm not looking for a $3,000 crib. The prices for cribs / sets / bedding are totally comparable to other stores / online shops out there. Are they equal to Toys R Us? No. But the quality and design is what justifies the pricing for some of the uber modern pieces of furniture. If I wanted to drop a ton of cash on baby furniture, I would definitely buy at E&E simply because of the service I received. It was outstanding.
The other products; clothing, bottles, knick knacks, and even car seats are all comparable to the big box store prices. Sometimes it's all about the experience and leaving happy and empowered with information is enough reason for me to go back and register there. I also would love to support a local shop.
