  • I went to countless tile stores over the past week to find the perfect cement tile for a kitchen. I came across kaiser tile on yelp and so I stopped in. Initially when I walked in there's no one to greet you or point you in the right direction, I walked in 10 minutes before closing and he associate came out of the back room and had a snobby attitude as if I shouldn't have been there cause they were getting ready to close. I looked around and found a tile I really liked and wanted to get a sample of it. But there was no one around so I walked into the back office and asked if I could take home a sample. Her response was that it has to be ordered and it would be here sometime mid next week and that they would call me. I really loved the tile so I decided it was worth the wait. I called Wednesday of the following week and it hadn't arrived yet and so I called Thursday and they said it would be in sometime that afternoon. It came Thursday but I wasn't off work in time to pick it up so I picked it up Friday morning. I took the sample home and decided I wanted to order it. I figured out the square footage I would need and went in this morning to order it. Again I walk in and there's no one to be found. I popped my head inside the office and let them know I wanted to order some tile, again feeling as an inconvenience to the associate. When I told her how much tile I needed in square feet she looked and me and said "so how many tiles is that?" Immediately I became flustered thinking this is a tile store how do you not know how to convert the square footage number I gave you. In disgust she said give me a minute I'm going to go in the back office and try to figure it out. So I'm left standing there feeling like I was the unprepared one. So I hopped on google to find a calculator that would do it for me. I came up with a number and walked back into the office and said I would need 43 tiles. I was then informed that I have to buy them buy the box (each box has 13 tiles) and can not return the unused ones because it's a "special order" so I was either forced to spend $100 more and have 10 left over tiles or not have enough to cover the area needed. How stupid. Unfortunately I said I wasn't interested in buying the tile any longer and walked out because of their lack of customer service and dumb ordering policy. I should have had a hunch about the place when I went in there every time and was the only one there.
