  • Wow. I have never been treated so poorly as a frequent business traveler. Two of my colleagues and I arrived at GVR at 7pm PST, after a 5 hour flight to be told they could not honor our reservations because the had a big group and no rooms for us. The hotel manager was summoned when we tried to check in and told us we were being sent to their "sister" hotel. We had no other options except maybe the rental car -there were 5 conventions in Vegas on this week. I have a platinum status with one of the major chains and could not find a room at any of their hotels. The manager and his boss claim they tried to call us (while on the plane). I find that a little odd given there was no message on my cell phone nor on my work voicemail. If I wanted to cancel with the Green Valley I have to give them THREE DAYS NOTICE not to be charged. Very deceptive and unethical. Nothing of value was offered to compensate what we experienced given we traveling on business and had no personal expense. Initially, we thought we were only being sent to another hotel for the first night of our stay. When we learned we were not staying at the GVR period, the dinner that we were offered was less appealing since we would have to drive back to a place where we were treated like second-class citizens The rooms at the other property were comped but no way I would have spent a dime of my or my companies money there. Check one of the travel websites for the difference in room rates at the Green Valley Ranch versus the Sunset Station and you will understand the difference in the level of these properties. I have stayed at the GVR many times because it is convenient for my business purposes. I had reservations to return in February. They sent us to a hotel that did have a renovated room but no safety latches for the door. Their lobby was smoky and the hall to the elevator smelled of vomit. This was in now way an equal level hotel. Locals In our meeting heard about what happened and said they would never stay where we were sent nor eat there. I could go on and on. I, nor any of my team, will ever go to GVR again. We have cancelled all future reservation. This is a place that doesn't care about their individual repeat clients or at least that was how we were treated. Low class treatment to a repeat customer, I would never trust they would not do this again. Beware!
