  • For years I have shopped at this Sprouts. But my situation this evening really put me off and the behavior of one cashier was unnecessarily lousy. How do other people react when the all-but-finished-checking-out person in front of them has run back into the store 'to just get two items'? If they are getting something close by, I have no problem with someone leaving the check out for less than a minute. But the couple in front of me had the wife go back to finish her shopping while I stood there, waiting. After a few minutes I reasonably asked the husband if he could see his wife, andif he could not, if he could finish his transaction, and let me check out my 3 items. There was no one behind me, so his wife could promptly make a second purchase. The husband looked at the cashier and they shared a snarky 'well she's in a hurry" comment. Whoa - not cool...I had only asked. Just then we saw the wife flying back to the cashier. The wife had had to go the entire length of the store (it was dairy which is in the far back corner). Now educate me: should others be expected have to wait for you while you are away from sight in a market? While I disliked the rudeness of the couple, I had said nothing to them. But I was annoyed because the cashier treated me abruptly. He treated me as if I was the tool for asking for courtesy...three jerks in ten minutes. Training cashiers how to handle this situation would be appropriate. I won't be back at this Sprouts again.
