  • Our first two Escape Rooms were at a start-up passion project down in Tempe (Escape Zone AZ), so I think our group was a little spoiled. Epic Escape Game is more commercial. Puzzles are given to the group one after another in series instead of parallel, the rooms aren't nearly as detailed (ex: items hidden in plain sight), and the game masters don't seem really into it (for example, when a clue is requested, the answer is given straight out and not as an in-character hint). We did the Fortune Teller, which is probably fun for a bunch of kids or novices, but it was a little too easy for us. Our group escaped in 40 minutes (whereas in other Escape Rooms we were literally down to the wire due to the intricate nature of the puzzles). I hear the Dracula room is harder, but I'm not sure whether it would be harder because the rooms are more detailed or just harder because each sequential puzzle is more confusing. Overall, we may be back to this Escape Room if we find another discount, but there are far more detailed rooms out there that I would prefer to visit first.
