A sad state of affairs...
Seems like every year this team has the # 1 overall pick in that years NFL draft. Sometimes even 2 or 3 in the first round. Let's see ... Johnny Manziel or trading up to get Rick Couch several years ago. Yet again this upcoming one. So many needs on both sides of the ball.
They haven't been to the playoffs since 2002. Last victory in the postseason was January 1995. Definitely feel for their fans that sit in the Dawg pound. Some of the most loyal in all of football. Whether it's the current home ( First Energy Stadium) or original one ( Cleveland Stadium), these are diehards like almost no other in the league. Season tickets are passed down in generations just to keep them in the family. And for this, really!?
One of the oldest franchises in football going back to the 1940's. Named after the founder/coach and executive Paul Brown. Former great and Hall of Famer Jim Brown must be scratching his head with all that's going on. They haven't had a good team since one Bernie Kozar was the QB.
And to think, Bill Belichick got his start as a young and unproven coach of this organization. If only they let him stick around longer. The history of this team could have been a whole lot different.
