  • Do not, and I mean DO NOT, under any circumstances use this place for tailoring. I get a lot of tailoring done but I live in Chandler and was hoping to find someplace closer to my work in tempe. I read the reviews, they were mixed, but thought I would give them a try. The shop is a messy, dirty, stuff all over the place, immediately suggests this is not a place with a lot of attention to details (should have walked back out then.) Monday before NYE I took a dress in for hemming and asked several times if she was sure she could get it done timely. Communication is an issue here, it is not clear to me how much English the owner understands. But she seemed to indicate she knew I needed it by Sat and that it was no problem, she said it would be done Friday at 2 pm. Friday at 2 pm I go to pick up my dress and she asks if I want to try it on. Normally I never try anything on when I get it tailored as I trust my tailors but based on the state of the shop and the difficulty with communication I tried the dress on - damn good thing I did. One hem was so poorly done you could see every stitch (I hand stitch neater) and the fabric was puckered all across the front of the dress because it had not been hemmed correctly. The second hem they had caught some of the fabric from the side of the dress in stitching the hem so the entire side of the dress pulled up and hung wrong. I pointed this out to the owner who called the woman over who had apparently done the work, they had a conversation I could not understand, but the other ladies general attitude seemed to be "so what?" The owner said she would redo it and let the discussion drop. I had to ask when it would be ready - she did not say I will do it right now, she did not say can you give me an hour, she told me to come back Sat, NYE. I checked to make sure she was open, she was, and planned to make a 30 minute trip I did not need to make to get my dress. When I walked in Sat to pick up the dress the owner walked up to me and looked at me like she had never seen me and asked "pick up?" Um, yeas, pick up. She gave me the dress, I did not try it on again figuring if there was still something wrong with it it was too late to do anything now, but the stitching looked cleaned up. The owner then charged me full price without so much as an apology or a sorry for the hassle or anything else. After I paid her, in full, I suggested that charging me full price was not the best customer service choice for the hassle, she did not seem to understand my point and indicated it was for all the work that was required (that so much work was required was half their fault seemed to fly by her). If you need a tailor, Melissa at Gemma's in Chandler, well worth the drive. NEVER again at this place.
