After booking and then reading the neg reviews I was concerned. My wife and I had a great time here for four days.
If you are expecting this to be a hotel, you may be disappointed. The main business is the time shares. There is a tropical theme but you won't find tropical music in the lobby or the smell of tropical flowers. There is a laid back atmosphere. The employees are not dressed very tropical either. One employee was listening to her own music vs the lobby music. Personal items like a bag of chips or a motorcycle helmet are sitting right behind the counter where the employee keyboard is.
So why would I suggest this resort? The relaxed check-in employees did a great job and were very pleasant. They have a conveniently located loading/unloading zone on the side of the building close to the rooms. The parking structure is large and we'll located. I reserved a room with a kitchenette. It is nice to have a refrigerator which most Vegas hotels don't have. The toaster, blender, microwave silverware etc give a lot of options for eating. The room is large. Actually it is two rooms with two televisions. The couch is a sofa sleeper. The shower tub did slowly fill. I don't think it was due to the drain. The shower head is not low flow. There is so much water flowering out it easily overwhelms the drain. I mean there was tons of water coming down.
One of the big pluses is that the rooms have central AC. I hate the noise of the window type AC units at other hotels turning on and off all night is very annoying.
The room cleaning is every four days. If you need towels or toilet paper, they will deliver it to the room. I am not a fan of people coming into my room. I sleep in and don't mind this. If you want daily cleaning, it is available for a fee.
The pool is large and we'll planned. Imagine seven round pools all connected to a larger pool in the center. One of the seven pools is a sand beach. This is where the children and their parents build sand castles. The children stay in that area and the water near there. Four of the seven pools have a one foot area where reclining chairs sit in the water before the stairs leading into the swim area. I sat in one by a waterfall and had lunch delivered. One of the pools doesn't have the chair area. The last of the seven pools has a nice volleyball net across it. The pool depth is 3.5feet deep except the volleyball pool which is 4.5 our 4 feet. There is a bar with food available. $200-$300 cabanas are not offered or needed. There are plenty of shade areas and umbrellas for free. The Lazy River in a separate area from the pool is the longest in Vegas. The tubes are free to use. The float is the greatest. Waterfalls and several fountains along with thick lush and we'll maintained vegetation give a Disneyland feel. I enjoyed jumping into the Jacuzzi for a bit before rejoining the float. The Jacuzzis are open 24/7. The pools and Lazy River are well heated to a very comfortable temperature.
There are several bbq areas that have about 6 well maintained gas bbqs for use. These are great social areas.
We used the free shuttle bus that will drop you off at the Tropicana or Mirage. This is a very nice 40-50 person bus. The buses are at the stops every 30 minutes. I opted for a $14 cab ride back.
Bottom line, if you are a Hard Rock Hotel party type of person, go there.
We are are planning a family reunion here in the future.
