rev:text	A close family member had outpatient surgery here. The nurses and caregivers were all very polite and seemed very capable. However, the set up of the hospital is very poor! The only family waiting area is in the mainstream of the hospital flow. If,as was with our member, the results after surgery are upsetting there is absolutely no place to go to deal with these emotions. You are right in front of everyone visitors, staff slamming in and out of the closed doors, people going to the cafeteria ( we'll sort of) security and other people just sitting there just a lot of noise! The family waiting room is not closed off at all--wide open. I felt like I needed to get our family member to a "real hospital". The beds were full, short on inpatient nurses so you just stay on the very hard ER bed even if you need to be upstairs. If the Dr would not have said "this hospital" We would not have gone there. Unfortunately, you have to follow the Dr. It's new so I guess the ER isn't busy but hope you don't have to be admitted. Again the staff seemed professional. I am updating this review and would go to a 2 star. We want my family members surgery to be done at a "real hospital" where his cardiologist was but dr wanted here, I found out thing were cheaper for him as a perk for doing business with west gate St Josephs. I was concerned about the fact no cardio was available and we found out they had no rooms or enough staff we were sent home after surgery. I had good reason, it turned out, to be concerned about this place and probably the dr. Our family member had a heartache upon returning home. Be cautious of this place, maybe your dr if hr recommends surgery here make sure you are not going to need additional care!
