My first time ever at this airport and it doesn't disappoint. For the short duration that I was on the ground while waiting for my connecting flight, I was able to take a stroll around the different concourse and try two worthy eateries. I satisfied my craving for some good ol' southern barbecue and washed it all down with a good pint of Carolina craft brew. The airport is easy enough to navigate and quite organized compared with the airports that I'm used to in the Tristate area. My favorite part, and what really gave it that southern comfort feel was the tree-lined main avenue that had numerous white rocking chairs to sit and relax while waiting for your next flight. All I literally needed was a glass of fresh ice tea, a good book in hand, and a light breeze caressing my face and it would have been worthy of any southern romance novel. I don't know if this is a daily occurrence but while I was sitting down at one of those rocking chairs an employee started playing on the piano near the center of the thoroughfare and made the whole experience that much more elegant. Can't wait to be back and hopefully check out what the city of Charlotte has to offer.
