  • I was honestly disappointed with the lack of flexibility when I went to return some Christmas gifts in February. I really only wanted to get the returned items put onto a gift card so my boys could pick out something they would actually wear (ie. my intention was to still give them my business). I gave it about 6 weeks to see if they were going to ever wear the stuff I bought for them, and I also didn't want to guilt them into wearing a "gift" once, only for it to collect dust in a drawer afterward. I had the original receipt and the tags were still on the items. It's not easy buying for teenagers and even harder to get them both to want to go shopping at the same time to pick out something different, so the gift card option seemed like the best win-win win option for me, my kids, and the store. But this Footlocker showed no flexibility. They said the best they could is a direct exchange for merchandise of the same amount or greater. After a couple more weeks I went back to pick out something new on my own since the teens were too busy for shopping and I was frustrated with expensive new clothing just sitting in a bag. This time my total was less than the $180 total but the employee said "no problem, we'll put the balance back on your card". That's the only reason I rated 3 stars instead of 2. I don't know if the first gal was feeding me nonsense, or if the second one was just exercising more flexible judgement but it was a frustrating experience considering the cost of the items I had purchased and the fact that they were Christmas gifts.
