| - I owe Yojié an updated review now that I've become a regular!
As promised, I went back again and Carl greeted me at the door, "hey! Welcome back! I promise I won't seat you at the end and I'll take good care of you the WHOLE time. I'll make sure your tea is hot!" It's a little awkward to be recognized for my critical review, but his desire to change my mind about Yojié was very impressive! Game on!
Carl kept his word and refilled my tea with piping hot water throughout my meal. He was attentive to our needs and took care of me from start to finish.
We've become regulars, visiting about 2-4 times per month. Although Yojié is much more pricey than other shabu shabu places in town, their quality in meat & service is much better, so it's worth it if you can afford to treat yourself every now and then.
Recently I went in and Carl was NOT working. Trust me, this is a very rare occurrence. He's ALWAYS there. I was a little hesitant being that the last time he went on a break while I was there, I left feeling like it wasn't that great of an experience. We decided to stay anyway and we are glad we did! I can't remember the sweet girls name, but she was great. She was attentive and helpful, no complaints. Phew!
Like any new place in town, it always takes a minute to perfect things...and Yojié has. It's impressive to me that the server cared enough to read the review that was written, remember me, and accommodate my annoying little complaints. Lol. I also think he's become the manager since our first visit, so he's doing a great job in making sure the staff are up to par in their service as well.
5 stars, Yojié. Bravo!
