Update: (I posted this update once, not sure where it went) The lady I spoke with yesterday called me this morning to apologize and offer to speak with the owner. She explained they get hundreds of calls per day and go over cost upfront so they don't waste their time. I get that. I appreciate that and I appreciate the call. However, I believe that receiving hundreds of calls per day is a great thing! And I'd think you treat each call with respect every single time. The gentleman I spoke with made me feel the same way, like there was nothing for me there. I thanked her for her quick response but they showed me who they are and I believe them. I wished them luck and decided to pass on doing business with them as I have several other companies scheduled to come do estimates next week.
Original Post:
I called and spoke with a lady yesterday who, from the very beginning was very short and rude. After I told her I recently purchased my home and wanted to add a pool she basically interrupted me and said just to let you know now our minimum pool cost is $45-50K. I was like, ok, that's what I was expecting. I just wanted someone to come out and do measurements for the quote. She said she'd have the designer call me back.
A few hours later a gentleman called back and asked what I wanted to do and what was my budget. I said $50K was my max but for what I wanted to do, a very basic, small rectangle pool and maybe a spa but I felt more comfortable staying around $40K if I could. He explained to me that even if I wanted a smaller pool they still have to charge me for a larger pool. What!? Like the lady I spoke with earlier he was very short and rude and basically rushed me off the phone making me feel like my $40-50K was a waste of their time.
I'll continue my search for a pool installation. It's just disappointing, I had my mind made up on using CA Pools after reading the reviews, looking through photos and doing research from other areas. They were so rude and made me feel like they didn't have anything for me that I'd never even consider them. What a shame.
