| - Au Pied de Cochon cares about their clients. As hectic and busy as it can get (see for yourself) you will NEVER be left unattended, the waiters know the menu like the back of their hand- ingredients, taste, suggestions; they know it all.
The restaurant is self-explanatory. This is not a diet-meal restaurant, you come here to feast.
Pricing is not inexpensive but fair and to be expected for quality food.
As an entrée, we had the "tuna cake tartar" which was a seasonal special not indicated in the menu. It was good, not great. If you are Oriental or often eat sushi, don't order this. Basically this is a layered "cake". First layer was a crispy dough/rice cake, then the rice and topped off with the tuna and beets.
We then had the foie gras poutine, probably worth the buck and worth to try in my opinion; this is not your typical poutine dish but more on the gourmet and adventurous side. So you have your typical fries and cheese curd then comes the white sauce which is a foie gras based gravy with slices of foie gras on the poutine.
Last but not least we ended up having the seasonal special (not on the menu) steamed tuna with vegetable and foie gras for forty something dollar- not out of this world but quality is there.
The verdict is, the customer service is excellent; if I had my own business that's how I would want my team to be. In terms of food, if it's your first time this is quite an experience but I don't think I would come back any time soon.
