House of blues is a very intimate concert space. Your vision will be blocked for for at least a part of the show but you also might get close enough to have the artist sweat on you. Which is really, really close.
I've been to a few concerts here. It's always super crowded but the sound quality is great. The food is overpriced but I expect that if I go downtown. I would say the only con is there is always, always, always someone smoking pot. I've been to metal, alternative rock, country and orchestra events here and someone always lights up. I know it's expected at concerts but the orchestra event threw me. You would think in such a small space they would be able to locate and remove the individuals. I normally don't care but HOB's is very small and I don't want to be coughing on smoke through my shows because someone's smoking cheap weed.
