| - This place is certainly beautiful, but something very strong will have to possess me to come back...after 3 visits in 3 weeks, I can't chalk the chaos and rudeness of people up to the grand opening frenzy anymore. I just can't. If you're rude, you're rude. This isn't Heinens' fault--there's nothing wrong with the grocery store as far as I know and the employees are absolutely fantastic for putting up with the customers. I think it just might have to do with the location and the types of people that end up here during business hours.
I'm the type of person that just naturally has slightly frayed nerves. I'm not saying I'm ALWAYS frazzled or angry, but the fraying is there and things start tugging at those threads pretty easily. In other words, I have a very low human tolerance. People are not aware of their surroundings a lot and it really gets to me.
This place is the perfect example of a nightmare for me. People pushing and shoving in the rotunda, displaying a complete lack of manners, and being rude to the cashiers. Even if I came in here on my calmest, most patient of days, I would leave here with heightened blood pressure and a negative outlook on humanity.
Don't get me wrong! I think a grocery store coming downtown is absolutely fantastic for the city and downtown residents, and the fact that it's a Heinen's (ahem...too pricey for my taste) and it's in this wonderful Cleveland artifact is even better! I just feel that it's not worth the frustration for me to stop in here for lunch or a quick ingredient-grab. Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but Heinen's shoppers touching me and not saying their "excuse me's" is just too much.
