| - I just feel the need to point out, that the difference between LUSH and somewhere like Johnson&Johnson is a couple things...
Like Adam has proclaimed, the products ARE handmade, hence the cute little sticker with a person on it in most of their packaged products. Speaking of packaging, with minimal packaging, and compostable bags for their bathbombs, Lush has been a green company for a long time.
Another huge difference, is that LUSH is a 100% vegetarian company. Perhaps animal testing is not a concern to some people, but it is a huge concern for me.
Additionally, many of Lush's raw ingredients are fair trade.
Even comparing LUSH to other "boutique" soap shops such as The Body Shop, I would still choose them anyday if I am looking for a gift or luxury bath/face product. The Body Shop, for example, was actually bought out by L'Oreal in 2006, the biggest animal tester in the beauty business.
So, while I understand why some may not appreciate the combined smell of all the productsin a tiny LUSH store, or the cost of some items, I can say that if I were in the market for such products, and a local, independent source wasn't available to me, I'd choose LUSH first and foremost.
Oh. And I prefer body washes from other cruelty free companies, but some of my favourite products at Lush are the fresh facemasks (Catastrophic Cosmetic), Dark Angels cleanser, and the Ma Bar bubble bar. And if one is worried about the bath bombs drying out their skin, I'd recommend the bubble bars as they actually contain a cocoa butter base.
