I don't love it, but I like it. I'm not a fan of Vietnamese food but this place is not your typical Vietnamese restaurant. It's in a busy plaza of Chinatown and parking can be a struggle.
ATMOSPHERE
District One has this urban feel to it. Place is spacious and loud, with three sections. The sports bar, main floor and booth.
SERVICE
Courteous, friendly service. My server suggested some of her favorite dishes and was attentive the entire time.
FOOD
Not too much of a selection. Menu consist of appetizer, rice, noodle soup and seafood. My friendly server told me that anything with oxtail is popular, and suggested me Oxtail Loco Moco which is not on the menu. Along with that, she also suggested Rice Combo Platter (choice of short ribs or pork chop but you can get both for $4 extra) and Oxtail Fried Rice.
Oxtail loco moco was good! Not like the Hawaiian loco moco that I imagined it to be with the buttery gravery. Gravy itself had a vietnamese twist with pieces of cilantro. There were plenty of oxtail inside which was super tender. All of this deliciousness with sunny side up egg....perfection.
CONCLUSION
Obviously one item is not enough to give this place the accurate rating but I will be back to try more and adjust my rating/review.
