Quentin Hapsburg: Do you gamble?
Lt. Frank Drebin: Every time I order out.
--The Naked Gun 2 1/2
I never gamble when I'm in Vegas. I can't even remember the last time I did, I was probably like 22 or something.
So, the only real gambles are the risks I take with where I go to eat. I decided I shouldn't only keep returning to Citizens for breakfast, so we opted to come to Raffles one day during our stay at Mandalay.
The server we got was the type that you could tell doesn't like her job at all. It really detracted from our experience. She was abrupt and when others in the party tried to be personable she showed about as much personality as Ben Stein as the teacher in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. How she handled a billing issue at the end of our meal was extremely unprofessional.
The food could've been the saving grace, but aside from decent Canadian Bacon as my side, the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes were underwhelming. They barely provided any cream cheese frosting on them - you get 3 pancakes and the cream is basically enough for maybe one or one & a half. It was a waste of carbs.
While in town my friend (she does a fitness blog) told me: you're in Vegas, eat whatever you want. Next time I doubt that will be Raffles, unless I'm in a drunken stupor or have amnesia.
*ps: damn when did I become so old? Referencing movies from about 25 yrs ago like the Naked Gun & Ferris Bueller.
