Nothing more perfect than starting Monday fresh with a plate of hot and sugar-powdered beignets. The plate came with a trio of beignets and two generous cups of nutella and house-made jam. My friend and I savagely drenched our beignets in the two dipping sauces without even trying to leave some for the other. Within a minute, the plate was stripped bare.
We may share the same affections for dessert, but we are complete opposites when it comes to brunch entrees. I went for the savory croque madame with fries while she had the sourdough waffles with apples and pecan. The croque madame, essentially, a grilled ham and cheese sandwich, is topped with a lightly fried egg. It was surprisingly light despite being served with toasted brioche which has a high content of butter and egg. The flaky crust and rich crumb was perfectly paired with the ham and cheese.
I would happily return anytime!
