| - My wife would give Deseo 5 stars. I would give them 2 stars. Since I'm writing the review, I'm opting for a compromise of 3 to keep peace in the family. First, the cocktails (at $13 each) were tasty but lacked any real semblance of having alcohol in them - perhaps the weakest drinks I have ever had in town. My wife's beef empanada appetizer, according to her, was wonderful, as was her pork chop entrée. Our waiter, Philman (who was excellent, by the way) told me that the Ceviches were their specialties. So I ordered one. Many of them appeared somewhat odd on the menu, at least to my tastes, so I opted for the Clasico. It was very fruity, lacking the acidity that, to me, makes for a good Ceviche. My entrée was the Churrasco, cooked medium rare. It was cooked perfectly, and was seasoned adequately. The particular piece of meat I was served was tough. In fact, I had to literally saw through it, and if chewing each bite dozens of times is good eating etiquette, then it must have been excellent. Not. It was difficult to chew, and I could only finish half of it. My wife loved the ambiance. Me, not so much. The décor was very nice, but the room felt more like a decorated banquet room than it did a fine dining restaurant. I'm sure she would be happy to return. I will not.
