| - I really want to like this place, so badly. They have all the pieces together-- a put-together ambiance, well plated dishes, a balanced menu. Nothing is bad, really, at all. But it just didn't really seem like it had a soul. I mean, even the name of the place is uninspired. The style is new American, and nothing we really had for dinner was particularly edgy or creative. The lobster bisque was creamy, the chick pea salad was more leafy than I expected and came out more just like a garden salad, and the gnocci was fine. Our service was great; helpful and kind.
Like I said: I really want to like this place. But I've been twice now, and while it hasn't been bad, I'm just not particularly excited to go back. Especially in the context of the great culinary options in Madison.
